Tara’s Legacy: A Wish That Lives On
For the Tara “Boom” Houston Children’s Foundation, supporting Make-A-Wish Canada® is a deeply personal journey. It’s rooted in the life and spirit of Tara, a bright, courageous young girl whose wish was to have a horse. His name was Buddy-Boom.
“Tara’s wish wasn’t just about having a horse—it was about joy, comfort, and connection,” shared her parents, the founders and directors of the Foundation. “Buddy-Boom brought Tara happiness during a time when she needed it most. He was her companion, her dream come true.”
That wish moment became the inspiration behind the Foundation. Every child supported by the Tara “Boom” Houston Children’s Foundation carries a piece of Tara’s legacy—her strength, her warmth, and her love for life. Their mission is mirrored by Make-A-Wish Canada: to bring hope and healing to families and children facing critical illnesses.
