Inclusion, Diversity, Equity & Access
Make-A-Wish Canada embraces a culture of Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Access (IDEA).
Our Commitment
Together, we are committed to building an inclusive and diverse culture that celebrates and values all the voices and cultures of our children and our communities across Canada. We know that our wish children and the wishes we grant are unique, and we enthusiastically encourage our colleagues, volunteers, and communities to embrace their own uniqueness so they can be their authentic self, empowering them to grant the wishes of every eligible child.
Our Four IDEA Pillars
Inclusive Leadership
Inclusive and accountable leadership that role models inclusive behaviours and supports the IDEA strategy
Inclusive Culture
A culture in which IDEA is embraced at all levels of the foundation and throughout our communities
Inclusive Talent
Transparent, fair and equitable processes internally and externally that support a healthy and diverse talent pipeline
Inclusive Reach
To enhance inclusivity beyond our present geographical and demographic reach, broadening our impact for wish children and volunteers
Committed to Inclusivity
IDEA Committee
The Inclusion, Diversity, Equity & Access (IDEA) Committee is dedicated to fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment at Make-A-Wish Canada. The committee works to ensure that all staff can bring their whole self to work, belong and thrive. The Committee provides advice on the design of IDEA processes and procedures and forming working groups to work on specific IDEA deliverables.
CCN Committee
The Culture Champion Network (CCN) Committee develops employee engagement action plans, based on feedback in the Great Place to Work survey and other recommendations to foster a positive culture.
Accessibility
Make-A-Wish Canada is committed to treating all people in a manner that allows them to maintain their dignity and independence.
