We are on a quest to bring every eligible child’s wish to life because we know that a wish is an integral part of a child’s treatment journey. A Year of Community and Gratitude
In 2024, Make-A-Wish Canada made significant progress toward our vision of granting a wish to every eligible child across the country. We granted 2,011 wishes in 2024 — a 45% increase in children reached and more than any previous year in our organization’s history. Together, we look forward to continuing this mission of hope and transformation in 2025, aiming to touch even more lives with the gift of a wish come true.
Delivering results for children
We are grateful for our supporters and strong reserves to help us grant a growing number of wishes across the country. In 2024, we drew on our reserves to grant more wishes than ever, and our plan is to strategically draw on reserves for the next few years as we continue to build the fundraising capacity to grant 2,500 wishes annually.
Covering Canada in wishes
In 2024, Make-A-Wish Canada’s generous supporters unleashed 2,011 wish kids’ imaginations, giving families the opportunity to build long-lasting memories and strengthening connections in communities across Canada. Thanks to our supporters, we granted 45% more wishes in 2024 compared to the total wishes granted in 2023.
Types of wishes children asked for last year
At the heart of every wish is a spark—a spark that ignites joy and delivers the greatest happiness to our wish children. Wishes typically fall into one of these five categories. Each category represents a pathway tailored to bring a smile to the face of each child we serve.
