I wish to be a YouTuber at the biggest Halloween convention
Canon, 14
cancer
The first sign of Canon’s tumour appeared when he was 11 years old due to stomach aches consuming his left side. After numerous tests and hospital visits, a mass was discovered on Canon’s kidney and needed to be removed. He underwent surgery to remove his left kidney and the tumour, which is when the family found out it was cancer. After this, he underwent seven months of intense chemotherapy treatment.

Today, Canon has an insatiable love for all things spooky. His eyes light up with joy at the sight of Halloween animatronics, cobwebs, and costumes. Halfway through his chemotherapy treatments, he found out he would be getting a wish granted. Brainstorming and dreaming of possibilities was a wonderful distraction during lengthy hospital stays.
After dreaming of many possibilities, he discovered his most heartfelt wish is to be a YouTuber at the biggest Halloween convention in the world—the TransWorld Halloween & Attractions Show. Canon, alongside his mom, dad, and sister Dylan, travelled down to St. Louis, Missouri to take part in this one-of-a-kind convention.

Surrounded by people with similar interests was a dream come true for Canon. Canon’s favourite memory was getting to cut the ribbon to signify the show’s opening, where hundreds of people were there to cheer him on, patiently waiting for the show to begin. Shelly, Canon’s mom shared, “Canon has unique interests and seeing him surrounded and loved by his people, who speak his language was invaluable.”

Canon has brought home a lifetime of connections ideas, and motivation. Canon’s YouTube channel is going strong and growing everyday!
