I wish to visit National Parks in Alberta
Wyatt, 11
cancer
Wyatt, an 11-year-old who loves Percy Jackson, Harry Potter, and playing soccer with his friends, has faced a challenging battle with cancer since he was just two years old. After months of chemotherapy and surgeries, Wyatt’s journey took another difficult turn when he was diagnosed with a second type of cancer, resulting in more surgery to remove one of his adrenal glands. Despite the ongoing treatments, Wyatt never lost his love for life, which kept him going.
“Before the pandemic, my friend Maple went to Banff, Alberta. She saw animals, mountains, and lakes. Ever since then, I hoped to go to Alberta,” Wyatt shared. His wish was to visit the beautiful National Parks of Banff and Jasper, a dream he had carried for years.
Wyatt’s wish brought him and his family to the heart of Alberta, where they explored the stunning beauty of Lake Louise and the Columbia Icefield. The majestic mountains and pristine lakes left Wyatt in awe, and he loved taking a ride on the Jasper Skytram to see the town from above. While the outdoor adventures were incredible, Wyatt also enjoyed swimming in the hotel pool.
This wish gave Wyatt a renewed sense of hope. Research shows that wishes improve children’s emotional and physical well-being, offering them strength to fight their critical illness. In fact, 95% of healthcare providers say a wish helps children feel stronger, and 100% agree it improves their overall quality of life during treatment. For Wyatt, this trip wasn’t just a break from illness, it was a turning point in his journey, giving him the emotional strength he needed to continue his battle with cancer.
A wish is more than just a moment of happiness – it’s a vital part of a child’s treatment. With your support, we can continue to make wishes come true for children facing critical illnesses. Every wish granted gives children the hope and joy they need to keep fighting.
