Make-A-Wish® Canada Marks 10 Years of Holiday Magic with Trees of Joy Events Nationwide

Toronto, ON — This holiday season, the spirit of generosity shines brighter than ever as Make-A-Wish Canada celebrates 10 years of Trees of Joy, a beloved national tradition that brings together wish kids, families, and supporters to celebrate hope and imagination. From November 14 through December 9, events nationwide will once again transform the personal interests and favourites of wish children into beautifully decorated holiday trees and unforgettable moments of joy.
Across the country, generous sponsors will come together to design and reveal beautifully decorated holiday trees to wish kids, each inspired by a child’s imagination, favourite things, and dreams for the season. After the celebrations, the trees —complete with twinkling lights, ornaments, and heartfelt touches— are delivered to the families’ homes, creating lasting memories and reminders of hope.
“For ten years, Trees of Joy has embodied the heart of what we do, which is bringing communities together to create hope and healing for children,” said Meaghan Stovel McKnight, CEO, Make-A-Wish Canada. “A wish can’t change a child’s diagnosis, but it can change everything about their journey with critical illness. Wishes Are Medicine, and Trees of Joy is the way we share it during the holiday season — turning generosity into the joy that lights the path of healing for wish kids across Canada.”
About Trees of Joy
Supporters are invited to sponsor a holiday tree for $10,000, the average cost of granting a wish. Each sponsor team is thoughtfully paired with a wish kid, and together they create a personalized holiday tree that reflects the child’s imagination and joyful spirit.
The beautifully decorated trees are unveiled at an invitation-only, in-person celebration, where sponsors meet their wish kids, hear their powerful stories, and experience the true meaning of the season. Following the event, each tree is delivered to the wish family’s home to enjoy throughout the holidays and for years to come.
